 How can I join servers with people playing?

Post How can I join servers with people playing?
Because I don't want to play through by myself!

If you know that someone else is currently running a server (look at coopordie site and see if someone has recently started a server) then start quake2, login, press ESC, go to multiplayer, then join network server, and keep refreshing the server list. it may take like 1 minute for a server to show up in the list sometimes.
