Re: Quake 2 Mapping
You know Teo, I'm having the same problem. Maybe it's cause I'm a newb to Quake 2 mapping, but it sure takes a lot of time to make even one room look and play good. Making a huge unit-sized level seems impossible. I try and put some time aside for a new room each day, but yesterday I only got half of one done. Textures and entities need tweaking and I am wondering if I should risk trying to use functions. Pretty much The idea behind this map is you're hunting down the next Makron and I'm trying to get some new baddies working. Pretty much a Rocket-launching marine and a BFG wielding Gladiator. Also, is 8-player co-op ever going to be a possibility Pat? If there's the slightest chance, I'm all for making it 8-player compatible.

Re: Quake 2 Mapping
Try lazarus, you can do all kind of crazy stuff with entities, including BFG gladiator and rocket launcher marine allies

Re: Quake 2 Mapping
Wait, you can customize enemy weapons in the editor?!? And have AI teammates?!?!?!?!?!??!?!? OMG OMG OMG!!!!! I'm so checking it out! Does it work with GDK Radiant? P.S. Can't get it to work. If it is, it's just like normal Q2...

Lol, you don't know how to use it.. It's not an editor, it's a kind of modding tool. http://lazarus.planetquake.gamespy.com/

Re: Quake 2 Mapping
On your map size problem: I usually make many maps and then copy/paste them to one location and I create links between them.

How do you link them up? Sounds like a good idea! Anyhow, here's the pathetic amount I've done so far:

Re: Quake 2 Mapping
You can insert your other map as a prefab into your second one.

Re: Quake 2 Mapping
I've had some problems running my map... Quote: *** EXCEPTION REPORT ***
QuArK 6.3 Address in the program : 004F74DE (00521EFC)
Syntax error in map file, at line 4592 : unexpected char.
If you think this is a bug, please copy the above information in your bug report. What could it be? I am so advanced into my map I don't wanna lose it...
