Post Boot back to startmap?
My friend and I both successfully join the world server and he starts a game with port 27910 open. I can join successfully, but any time we try to enter a teleporter the map loads (example base1), then boots us back to the startmap. Do we need to open up other ports? does this happen to anyone else?

We're both using R1Q2 if it matters. :)

It may or may not be related but I also don't keep my weapons between maps when I play on my own server.

I've never heard about a similar problem. What his the name account of your friend ?
Remember, you must have an account per player and you must connect to the worldserver individually before joining your friend.

I was attempting to connect to a server started by "Genesis-". I know he was logged into the worldserver because I joined his server through the multiplayer tab in quake2 after I connected.

After connecting we could see eachother and move around the startmap freely, after entering any teleporter the map would load, then kick us back to startmap after about 10 seconds... or sooner if one of us hits a key.

I'm on sort of a wierd network setup. I live in a remote area in southern utah, my isp provides service via a giant wireless network, its possible there may be some ISP side firewall that's screwing with me if no other problems are obvious...in any case thanks for looking into this, your mod is awesome. :)

Is it normal to loose my weapons between maps? I've got a copy of the wsrv_log from that night if you'd like me to email it. :)

Retry with another engine and let me know if it works for you.

Several players have reported me various problem when they play COOP or DIE with recent versions of R1Q2. I've just tried the latest R1Q2 and have problem with map transition (can't return to startmap) and inventory (not saved).

At first look, what I understand is that R1Q2 include a lot of check (security, reliability, ...), and they are in conflict with the COOP or DIE worlserver job.

I will look more inside when/if I have time, but actually I can only suggest you to use another engine.

Well that's an easy enough fix. Thanks Pat! I'm using quake2 max now and its working like a charm.
...Now i just need to recriut myself a squad. :)
