Crash 'n' Masacre error (MSF_ReadDir: Out of range)
I'm playing with Quake2xp (last actual version), radar, window mode. In the Crash 'n' masacre, after a few minutes, i0m gettint the error: Code: ERROR: MSF_ReadDir: Out of range ---->The * line <---- ==== shutdownGame ==== What is causing this error?

Re: Crash 'n' Masacre error.
The message "MSF_ReadDir: Out of range" is an error signaled by the engine. It is related to NUMVERTEXNORMALS, I think it's the max number of normal vectors for lighting a MD2 3D model (max number of triangles ?). I don't know well this part of the Quake 2 code.
Are you using custom 3D models ? Are you using Quake2XP with a content pack of enhanced textures + models ?

Re: Crash 'n' Masacre error.
I'm using Quake 2 XP, and some textures. It got pretty nice features, on graphics, and the radar (is pretty nice to know what is forward ). But, as far as I know, no custom models, they are all stock... as far as I know..

Mmm. i'll look to disable it.
But, it makes no sense... they add a Model pack, that crashes with their own engine.. Is just STUPID, or at least that's what i think.
Anyway, we can't enlarge the maximun number of vectors?

Is just STUPID I'm not sure if it comes from this model pack, but in all case it's only a bug, so please, be more polite with software developers, particularly when they provide their work freely xRDVx wrote: Anyway, we can't enlarge the maximun number of vectors? It's not my part, but perhaps it is not easy as it sounds...

Ok, ok, they make a mistake that shouldn't be... But, anyway... They also don't provide an option to disable it. But, i must say: They got a great engine. Don't know if I can compare with EGL, but i'm pretty sure it's better than Normal Engine
