Post Keeping items on first death. Bonus or bug?
I was just playing challenge mode with andrei, mik1, and pain. Andrei died at least 3 times. I died once. Andrei says he kept his items the first time he died, and lost them afterwards. Later on I died cause mik1 told me to invite him to a convo on msn, since that's on my laptop I looked away from the computer that had quake 2 running, and before I looked back, they went into the next map and i was killed by a maiden. It kept my items though. I haven't died again yet.


So I'm wondering if this was some sort of bonus for having 4 players, or if it was a bug.

It's a bug, and I don't think it is related to first death.

Maybe 4 players could increase the load of communication with the worldserver and sometime an update is lost...

Well... if you send all kills/deaths at time... Of course!

Why not generate a temp file that's sended at the end of the unit, with info of all players, by the server?

i know what's the problem: if you die from a explo-box or trigger_hurt and own grenades or rocketlauncher (i'm not sure with the grenades and rocketlauncher) then you keep items if you die from monsters then you don't keep them
